Neuro Heroes

In honor of Autism Awareness Month, we hosted a joyful and transformative day at our Neuro Heroes Sports Camp, welcoming neurodiverse children ages 6 to 12 for a unique blend of play, learning, and connection. Held at Northwestern University’s Trienens Performance Center, the camp offered an inclusive and empowering space where every child could thrive—both on and off the court.

The day was designed to nurture confidence, friendships, and essential life skills. Campers engaged in adaptive sports drills, sensory-friendly games, and creative art and movement sessions—each activity tailored to support social development while honoring the individuality and strengths of every participant.

One of the day’s most impactful moments came with a visit from the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® truck. In collaboration with the UIC College of Dentistry, dental professionals generously provided free oral health screenings, giving families easy access to wellness resources in a warm, supportive setting.

This memorable event would not have been possible without the incredible generosity and dedication of our sponsors, volunteers, staff, and supporters. Thanks to their collective efforts, every child felt seen, valued, and celebrated.

At the heart of it all, Neuro Heroes is more than a sports camp—it’s a movement to uplift neurodiverse youth by creating spaces where they feel safe, supported, and empowered to be themselves. We’re proud to champion a place where confidence grows, friendships form, and lasting connections are made.
